A Little About Me

Love sewn into every stitch

My name is Sheila Hryclik.
I am a retired mom and grandmother living in London Ontario. Much Love Quilts is both my creative outlet and my way of making positive contributions to my community through fundraising and donations. I offer quilts for sale as a way of being able to afford materials to continue this work. I like to think it is putting more beauty and comfort into the world.

I loved sewing from the very first apron I made in Grade 7 Home Economics class. Over the years I have made everything from kids clothes to home decor to Halloween costumes. In 2012 I started a charitable project embroidering words of hope on flannel swaddling blankets with proceeds donated to a childrens’ charity benefitting children in the developing world.

Somewhere along the way I discovered just how much I enjoy quilt making. I made each of my daughters a quilt when they were young and then I didn’t return to quilting for another 20 years (when the nest was empty). My daughters still have and use those first quilts so it goes to show that quilts have longevity. Now I have the joy of making quilts for my little grandson.

I have always loved fabric and colour. Lots of colour! In 2021 I changed the focus of my fundraising efforts to benefit charities working in my own community of London Ontario with a special focus on Indigenous charities. 10% of all proceeds are donated to Indigenous charities.

I always have at least one quilt on the go. I have a magnificent stockpile of fabrics just waiting to be made into glorious quilts - some beautiful collections from specific designers as well as pieces sorted by colour ready to be made into scrappy quilts. Generally anything larger than a child size quilt is sent out to a long arm quilter for professional quilting. Long arm quilting takes the quilts to the next level and makes them very durable and long lasting. I have close working relationships with two long arm quilters in my area.

My “Available Quilts” are well priced and are a way for me to recoup some costs while bringing you a unique and long lasting heirloom.

I hope you enjoy taking a look at my work. Thanks for being here.
